This is the land where history lives on in music and dance. It still retains the chivalry and romance of the past. After exploring the bustling capital city of Delhi, you go to Lucknow, city of nebabs, Varanasi, holy city, Bandhavgarh, an elephant safari and Udaipur, ‘Venice of the East’. Pause and admire the island palace that seems to float on a magical blue lake.

We are going to take an elephant ride up into the high mountain fortress of Amber in Jaipur. For the next three days, we will roam the Ranthambhor National Park in search of tigers and later will visit the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. In Agra, the capital of the Mogul Empire, we will visit the magnificent Taj, the monument to eternal love. We will explore some of India’s finest Hindu temples in Khajuraho, and get an insight into a golden time when art and devotion were at their peak. Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities on Earth, and you feel transported to an entirely   different world, as you sail down the Ganges with the temple bells ringing and thousands of pilgrims immersing themselves in the holy waters of the river.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

GeTS Holidays executives will receive you at Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi, upon your arrival and your welcome is a testimonial of Indian culture and a glimpse of your future tour. GeTS Holidays executive will escort you to Hotel Oberoi, one of the most illustrated hotels in city. This is a day for your own and it is suggested to have some nap and tryst with exotic Indian cuisine.

Day 2: Delhi

GeTS Holidays will arrange a tour of the walled city of Delhi or Sahajahanabad, now known as Old Delhi. You have pleasure to visit the Rajghat (resting place of mahatma Gandhi), the Red Fort (once the Great Mughals ruled from it) and Jama Masjid (the greatest mosque in India). Chandni chowk is though a little crowded worth a visit. It is a paradise for gastronomic. You will also love to shop here. You have a night stay at Delhi.

Day 3: Lucknow
The morning sightseeing tour visits the beautiful buildings of New Delhi, built by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, the historic Qutab Minar and Humayun's tomb. In the afternoon, a short flight takes you to Lucknow where GeTS Holidays will arrange stay at tastefully designed Taj Residency for 2 nights. The Gomti River divides Lucknow, the erstwhile city of the Nawabs, into two parts. Formerly this region was called Oudh, or Avadh, Lucknow is now the capital of Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state of India. It is a medieval city that continues to retain its old-world charm. Its once broad and tree-lined streets now gasp for breath, as smoke-spitting automobiles roll over them.

Day 4: Lucknow
This morning we GeTS Holidays will drive you to the Residency Complex - site of the famous siege of 1857, Dilkusha Gardens, and La Martinere School. Lucknow is also famous for its Mughlai cuisine, a reminder of Muslim influence on the city. A kite-flying festival held after Diwali, the festival of lights, draws thousands of competitors to the city. The city is also known for its gharanas, or schools of Indian classical music, as well as its bidri (silver inlay work) ware, jewellery, chikan (embroidered cotton) and zardozi (silver or gold thread woven into cotton or silk). The main shopping centres in Lucknow are Hazratganj, Aminabad, and Chowk. An annual 10-day music, dance, and drama festival is held in Lucknow in Nov/Dec.

Day 5: Varanasi (Benaras)
GeTS Holidays will drive you to the holy City of Varanasi. It’s a long drive and will take around 5 to 6 hours. Many considered Varanasi as the oldest living city. GeTS Holiday will arrange your stay for two nights at the Taj Ganges. If you wants to feel spritual life of the city you need to wake ell before dawn and make a visit if ghats. Varanasi is famous for Varanasi Saree, a traditional ethnic female wear and silk. It is also famous for wooden handicrafts.

Day 6: Varanasi
Early in the morning GeTS Holiday will arrange a boat ride through the Ganges. And you have pleasure to take lots of unique and rare photographs on the bank of river Ganga, the most sacred and pious river of the country. In Varanasi, there are many ghats and every one has its own importance and way of religious activities. After boating, we would go to visit the Kashi Vishvanath Temple, the most visited temple of the town. After visiting other temples en route, we would go for lunch in a typical Benarasi dhaba, which offer authentic North Indian cuisine at a very reasonable cost. After lunch don’t forget to have Benarasi Paan (famous local delicacies, beatle) Post lunch drive towards Jagannath Temple near the Assi Ghat and Laxminarayan Panchratna Mandir, also near the Assi Ghat, in the same area. After visiting, these temples we later visit the city sights and Sarnath, the site of Buddha's first sermon. In the evening, we enjoy a cycle-rickshaw ride to the Ganges to witness the ceremonial worship or "aarti" on the riverbanks. Night stay at hotels.

Day 7: Bandhavgarh
GeTS Holidays will arrange a train journey from Varanasi to Katni from where you will transfer to Bandhavgarh for 2 nights at the Churhat Kothi or Camp Mewar. Situated in the Vindhya Hills, Bandhavgarh, situated in Vindhya hills, has an undulating terrain and is home to blackbucks, wild oxen, sloth bear, barking deer, leopard, and tiger. The rich and varied bird-life includes golden orioles, parakeets, and hornbills. Bandhavgarh National Park is full of surprises. The national park is supposedly housing the largest number of Tigers in the country. Night stay at hotel.

Day 8: Bandhavgarh

GeTS Holidays will arrange other activities in the jungle including a game drive and a possible elephant safari, which is considered better than jeep safari. The nicest elephant experience is to pay for a 2 hr ride in the jungle during which your sighting will depend upon tracking skills of your guide. Return to hotel and relax and shed off the tiredness, which you would accumulate in the last two days.

Day 9: Khajuraho
GeTS Holidays will drive you to Khajuraho and arrange your stay at Hotel Taj Chandela. This is a small village. Once it was the capital of mighty Chandela Rajputs. All temples are dated back to AD 10th –11th century.

Day 10: Khajuraho

GeTS Holidays will arrange a morning visit of various temples. Out of 85 temples only 22 remain intact. These temples are dedicated to Devi, Vishnu and Shiva. There are Janis temples too. The temples are carved with hundreds of sculptured figures, a galaxy of gods and goddesses and multitude of erotic couples that represent a paean to life. Night stay at Khajuraho.

Day 11: Agra

This morning GeTS Holidays will drive you for Orchha, dotted with palaces and temples built by the Bundela kings. You have your lunch beside the Betwa River before a train ride to Agra where you will stay at the Amar Vilas, a super deluxe hotel, for 2 nights.

Day 12: Agra
GeTS Holidays the famous Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort in the morning. The afternoon is at leisure.


Day 13: Jaipur
GeTS Holiday will drive you to Jaipur. You have pleasure to visit the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri located en route. Sikri is described as an epic engraved in red sandstone. A brief halt at the world famous Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary gives an opportunity to view birds on cycle-rickshaws and have lunch. The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is home to 400 bird species. The park's shallow waters and marshes provide an oasis in the heart of the desert and have become an important stopover for a variety of migratory bird species from Central Asia and even Eastern Europe. Other inhabitants of the park include the blue bull, the spotted dear, the wild boar, and mongoose. You will stay in Jaipur for 2 nights at the Raj Vilas, another super deluxe property.

Day 14: Jaipur
In the morning, we ascend the hilltop fort of Amber on elephant back and also visit a small block-printing unit with the Gets representative. The afternoon city sightseeing includes the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and the museum. During evening, you are free to venture into the local bazaars. Night stay at Jaipur.

Day 15: Deogarh
GeTS Holidays will drive you to Deogarh where you will stay at the fortified Deogarh Mahal. The afternoon is free to explore the colourful village and get accustomed to the locals, their style of living, their rituals, and all. Night stay at Deogarh.

Day 16: Udaipur
GeTS Holiday will drive you to the romantic city of Udaipur with a brief visit of intricately carved Jain Temple at Ranakpur. Your lunch will arrange in the pleasant surroundings of Maharani Bagh orchards. The next 2 nights are at the Lake Palace - Lake View Room. Udaipur is one of the most beautiful cities of Rajasthan; it is located on the banks of lake Pichola, also known as a 'Jewel of Mewar’. The centre of attraction vibrates around the shimmering blue waters and the royal white marble palaces constructed with unique artistic insight. This remarkably chiselled out Lake Palaces shines like a jewel on Lake Pichhola certainly enchants the tourist and overwhelms them with its charm.

Day 17:
Udaipur
The morning city sightseeing includes the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Sahelion-ki-Bari. The afternoon is free to spend at your leisure or lazy around.

Day 18: To Mumbai
The day is at leisure. In the evening, GeTS Holidays will fly you to Mumbai to connect with the midnight flight to London.

You fly back to Heathrow arriving the same morning.
