Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake located in Udaipur which is famous for its large number of beautiful lakes. The scenery is incredible and the lake makes a spectacular background with the forts above the Aravalli hills standing on the banks of the lake. It’s likely you’ll see many professional photographers here that are waiting for the perfect snapshot. It’s one of the most picturesque spots in the whole of Rajasthan. And if you stay around for the sunset you’ll thank yourself.

There are many activities for visitors which is why it has become a top tourist attraction in Rajasthan. You can spend a full day here as there’s so much to see and do. You’ll need to create an itinerary just for a trip to this lake so you can fit in as much as possible. And don’t worry, there’s plenty of restaurants closeby or food stalls around the lake offering many different cuisines and beverages. So you don’t have to worry about bringing anything with you.

Water Activities

There are various different water activities that you can participate in at Fateh Sagar Lake. It’s all part of the fun! There are different boating options for visitors. You can choose the cheapest option which is a bigger boat with room for different groups of visitors with one tour guide. Or you can choose a more personal experience with your own motorboat and guided tour. This is perfect for families/friends that want to spend quality time together and they can also have the guides full attention. You can make the journey more individual and choose how long you stop off in different places for photographs etc. So you can admire the beauty of the lake in your own time! You can even hire Jet Skis for the thrill-seekers. You can choose any time limit you want and the prices are surprisingly cheap. Different tour packages will have jet skiing included. So hop on and have some fun!

Three different islands

If you decide to take a boat trip you can visit all three of the different incredible islands on Fateh Sagar lake. Most tours will stop off at each island for a short period of time and let you explore.

First island

The largest island of the lake is called Nehru park. The whole island is fundamentally a big park with a zoo. There are over 40 species of animals at this zoo. Including many indigenous animals such as Bengal tigers, panther, elephants, deer, antelopes, Indian rhino, Asiatic lion and various bird species. You will also find a boat-shaped restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner after a few hours enjoying some of Indias most majestic creatures.

Second island

The second island is the smallest and is essentially a public park. Many people like to stop off here for lunch as there are many green areas with amazing views of the lake to sit and picnic. You will also find incredible water-jet foundations that the government of Rajasthan have installed. At nighttime these light up!

Third island

The third island is the home to Udaipur Solar Observatory which is the best solar observing site in the whole of Asia. Unfortunately, you cannot stop off at this island and explore the facility. Only people that work here are permitted to enter. However, you can go past on the boat and observe or take photographs.

You will experience an unforgettable experience at Ranthambore National Park. It has been rated as a 4.5 on trip advisor and is a top attraction in Rajasthan. It’s 1,334 km² which makes it one of the biggest parks in Northern India. It is well-known all around the world for the experience it offers tourists and the incredible wildlife that you can spot rooming around in their natural habitat.

Wild animals

Ranthambore National Park is mostly known for the abundance of tigers. So if you’re desperately searching for a tiger-siting on your visit to Rajasthan, this is without a doubt the place to go! Many wildlife photographers (and tiger lovers) will go here as its the most likely place to see tigers. The tigers at this national park are also extremely familiar with vehicles so they won’t be scared off by your approaching. They’ll sometimes even feel so comfortable they’ll come right up to your vehicle to inspect. So get your cameras ready!

But Rajasthan offers so much more than tiger sightings. You’ll find so many majestic creatures as you explore the park. There is a huge variety of animals including mammals, birds and reptiles. You might find leopards, sambar deer, Asian palm civets, striped hyenas, white-footed fox, Chinkara and Asiatic wildcat. And if this isn’t enough, there are also over 300 species of birds. Which is great news for the bird lovers! In fact, its Indias most popular birdwatching spots with people travelling from all over for this reason. These include serpent eagle, waterfowl, sandpiper, kingfisher, cormorant, bronzed-winged jacana, great-horned owl, sandgrouse, sarus crane, painted spurfowl and so many more.

The park is also well-known for the huge amount of Reptiles that you can find wandering around. Some of these reptiles can be dangerous, so it’s important to read the warning signs to stay safe and aware. That’s why getting a tour guide is always a great idea! The reptiles you might find include Desert Monitor Lizards, Tortoise, Banded Kraits, Cobras, Common Kraits, Ganga Soft Shelled Turtles, Indian Pythons, Rat Snakes, Russel’s Vipers, Indian Chameleon and more. There are even crocodile species in the marsh. There will be warning signs everywhere to stay away from the Marsh at all times.

Tours around Ranthambore National Park

There are so many tour options for Ranthambore National Park. Tourists should pick a tour package based on their main reasons for visiting the park. These are the tour options…

Safari Tour

You can choose out of two types of safari tours. The first tour will offer a Jeep and Canter experience. Depending on the size of your group, you can choose a 6 seat Jeep or a 20 seat Canter. The Canter safaris are perfect for those visiting in big groups so you can share the same tour guide and experience all that the park has to offer. The tour lasts about 3 hours and will take you to all the best spots in the park. This means you’re extremely likely to spot some of your favourite wildlife! Just make sure you’ve got your binoculars and camera ready.

Photography tour

There is a specific photography tour for photographers or just anyone that wants to get the best possible shots from the experience. This tour will take you to the most photogenic locations. It’s one of Indias top photography destinations so you’re guaranteed to get some amazing photographs. Your tour guide will also give you tips and tricks (for those who aren’t professionals) on how to get a great photograph. This tour is also for 3 hours so you’ll have so many opportunities to capture many different majestic creatures. And all with the most beautiful backgrounds! It’s no surprise that its a top location for wildlife photographers.

What is Elefantastic?

This amazing elephant sanctuary will give you the experience of a lifetime. It opened in 2012 and has become extremely popular, which is due to the special and unique encounter that this tour offers. Elefantastic is owned by a lovely local family that have had over four generations of experience with the care of elephants. It now has 25 Asian elephants that roam freely within the sanctuary. Each one is treated with exceptional care and respect. And it has now been voted the #2 tourist attraction in Rajasthan! It’s clear immediately that Elefantastic ensures the elephants need come first. They have even banned elephant riding to protect elephants from any possible stress. They focus on healthcare, welfare and rehabilitation for the elephants. Their main goal is to create a safe space these domesticated majestic elephants to live a healthy and happy life. So add Elefantastic to your itinerary today!

Having the opportunity to witness these magnificent animals up close is a spectacular experience. The team at Elephantasatic goes above and beyond and ensures the experience here is unmatchable. The eco-friendly living at this sanctuary ensures elephants live a long and healthy life. So many elephants are rescued either from the circus of poor living conditions and rehabilitated back to good health. You will get a meaningful and authentic experience here and it’s clear how well this family look after their elephants. They want to give tourists lots of information about elephants and their lives rather than simply just ordering rides. They offer an in-depth insight into the lives of Asian elephants. So, if you’re in India and want to hang out with elephant (who wouldn’t) then I strongly recommend Elefantastic. You do not have to be concerned about elephant welfare here.

Why choose Elefantastic?

As you probably already know, it is very important to pick the right elephant sanctuary when visiting a country. Unfortunately, so many elephants are being mistreated all around the world and beaten for exploitation and tourism. It’s your duty to do as much research as possible (read lots of individuals reviews) before choosing which elephant sanctuary to visit. Elefantastic offer a distinctive and rewarding experience with the elephants. You will be able to practice speaking to the elephants through different spoken commands. And instead of riding, you will walk with the elephants to a close-by village. This shows the elephants respect and allows them to be undisturbed, abused or exploited.

Elefantastic does not allow tourists to ride the elephants. No matter what elephant sanctuary tell you, if you’re allowed to ride elephants then these elephants are not being treated well. So any elephant sanctuary that promotes this should be avoided at all costs. The unfortunate truth is that baby elephants are taken away from their mothers and tortured and beaten in order to ‘break their spirit’. This means they’ll follow human commands more willingly as they have no fight left. Therefore, elephants may seem relaxed when you ride them but they are in fact just beaten down and submissive. This is a horrible thought but it’s very important that people are made aware. So they can choose a sanctuary that ensures the health and well-being of elephants is a priority. And not exploiting them for tourism.

What is the Real Deal Rajasthan Camel Safari?

This incredible camel tour takes place in the Thar Desert. This desert is famous and well-known across the world as the 17th largest desert covering 200,000 km2. Adventuring through this vast desert in the blazing heat is truly an incredible experience (just make sure you bring water and sun protection). You will enjoy an ethical camel-riding experience through the most remote and empty dunes. You will almost feel alone (apart from the people on your tour) as you adventure through the desert. This makes you feel far away from civilization which is something people love about the experience. This means there’s no one to ruin your picturesque photographs! The best thing about this tour is that they offer various different tour choices to cater to your needs. Whether its the half-day sunset tour, a full day tour or an overnight tour. Stargazing at nighttime here is truly magical!

I can definitely recommend The Real Deal Camel Safari. The team’s passion to make your experience the best shows in every little detail of the tour. The camels are treated amazingly and seem very content, happy and healthy. They offer a unique tour through the Thar Desert and will take you to some very isolated places. Where you’re likely to come across some more desert-living creatures! It’s so important to choose a good tour guide. To ensure your safety and make your travel through the desert hassle-free. So you can soak up the experience and immerse yourself in all the incredible sights that the Thar Desert offers. Make sure you carry your camera with you, you’ll want to capture this unforgettable experience. The sunrise or sunset in the desert is a sight you won’t want to miss.

Will you find other animals the Thar Desert?

Yes, the Thar Desert is home to many species of birds, reptiles and wild animals. So it is very likely that you’ll bump into some along the way. Some wild animals you might find include the red fox, the mongoose, the chinkara, antelopes, wild cats and of course, other camels other than the one you’re riding one. You will also see reptiles such as the Indian spiny-tailed lizard and desert scorpions. The Thar Desert is also a haven for birds, with up to 141 species. Including Indian Bustards, spotted eagles, laggard falcons, buzzards, kestrel, vultures and many more.

What shall I bring?

When travelling through the Thar Desert you will face extreme heat, especially in the middle of the day. In peak heat, it can reach 100 degrees and 50 degrees in the evening. It’s very important to protect yourself from the heat. Here are some things you’ll need…
Water! Water is essential. You must stay hydrated throughout the day.

  • Sun protection. I’d recommend the highest factor you can find. Don’t risk burning yourself.
  • A hat (also for sun protection).
  • A bandana or scarf. They will provide you with protection from sunburn, dust and sand.

These are the essential items but I’d also recommend taking a battery pack for your mobile phone. You’ll want to capture all the picturesque views. Hand sanitiser, your hands will get dirty from the dust and sand. And a low-backed chair when you stop for a break!

The Jah Mahal is an extremely famous palace located in Jaipur (”The Pink City”), the capital of Rajasthan. Jal Mahal is translated as ”Water Palace” in English. The palace is situated in the heart of Man Sagar Lake. You are not allowed inside the palace to explore. This is to protect and preserve the beauty of this historical monument. However, you are allowed to view by boat and can get extremely close. If you’re looking to explore the history and heritage of Rajasthan, then the Jal Mahal is a must-visit. I strongly recommend taking a guided tour here for an enhanced experience. So you can listen to its rich history whilst taking in the spectacular views. The architecture and design will leave you in amazement! And its surrounded by the beautiful Nahargarh hills. So don’t forget your camera! There will be many scenic views to capture.

When is the best time to visit the Jal Mahal?

You can take a guided tour to the Jal Mahal whenever you wish. However, I’d personally recommend early evening as the sun sets. The view of the palace with a sunset lite lake really is magical! And the background behind the palace is beautifully lit as the sunset disappears into nighttime. You will fall in love with the ambience and views. And the best part? there are other historical sites very close by, such as Amber Fort, HawaMahal and City Palace. So if you can combine visiting the Jal Mahal with visits to all of these places. I would definitely recommend taking a guided tour which will take you to visit all four monuments in one day. The Jal Mahal is somewhere where you could stay all day. Once you’ve moved around the palace on the boat and took in all the views, you’ll be ready to move on.

Why add the Jal Mahal tour to your itinerary?

Jaipur is one of the most popular cities to visit in Rajasthan for its rich history, picturesque pink buildings and pristine lakes. You cannot visit Jaipur without visiting the Jal Mahal. It is without a doubt one of the top sites that this city offers. With thousands of tourists setting out in a boat to capture its beauty each year. It is considered as one of the Indias most beautiful architectural palace ever built. The city of Jaipur can be quite chaotic at times, so its the perfect escape for a day of serenity as you take in the breathtaking views. The beauty and charm of Man Sagar Lake with the incredible architecture of the palace are unmatched.

Your guided tour will narrate the history of the Jal Mahal. This will enhance your experience significantly, allowing you to relax, soak up all the information and enjoy the beauty of the Jal Mahal. Of course, tour guides are great if you’ve got any questions too. All Jal Mahal tour guides will have years of experience and knowledge in the culture and heritage. So you can rest assured that your in safe and knowledgable hands as you enjoy this 18th-century monument.

Why choose the Sariska Tiger Reserve Tour?

I would strongly recommend the Sariska Tiger Reserve Tour to anyone that’s planning to visit Rajasthan. This tour is perfect for couples, families and friends. It’s hard not to be amazed by the sight of some of the worlds most majestic creatures. This experience allows you to interact with these creatures in an epic and ethical way. You will encounter many different creatures up close and personal. Some Sariska Tigers are so friendly you might even find them jumping on the bonnet of your vehicle! They will be rooming around in their natural habitat which is crucial for their well-being. These animals are complex, intelligent and loving beings that deserve freedom. That’s why this tour does not support zoos (zoos should be left in the part, its 2021 people). This incredible adventure through the jungle will fill you be excitement and delight. So book in today to guarantee your spot!

Which other animals will I get to see?

Of course, many tourists choose this tour because they want to see the spectacular Sariska Tigers. But you will encounter many different wild animals as you ride through the Indian Jungle. Not knowing which animals you’ll come across is all part of the fun. There’s a whole of 880 square kilometres to explore! There have been reportings of leopards, jungle cats, deers, boars, bison, sambhar, monkeys, chitals, hyenas, chausinghas, nilgais, porcupines and mongoose. This nature reserve is also home to an incredible 220 species of birds form many different regions. Such as crested serpent eagles, sand grouses, Indian nightjars, Eurasian eagle owl, Grey-winged Blackbird, white-capped water redstart and so many more! So make sure your prepared to do some bird-watching too.

What shall I bring?

If you’re struggling with what to pack for your Sariska Tiger Reserve Tour then here are my recommendations. You must bring the essentials, which include sun protection (a high factor, it gets extremely hot), bug spray (you’ll thank me later) and plenty of water (stay hydrated, always). Here are some not so essential items but might make your experience more enjoyable…

  • Comfortable shoes, walking shoes or sandals. There are points during the safari that your tour guide might let you hop out of the vehicle. You’ll be able to roam around or go on a team walk (not too far from your vehicle though). You’ll appreciate having the appropriate footwear on.
  • Any type of hat and sunglasses. The safari tour can get extremely dusty! You should wear a hat and/or sunglasses to protect your eyes. And to protect yourself from the sun too!
  • A warm jacket for the evenings. Of course, it’s extremely hot during the day so many people don’t think about bringing a jacket. You’ll be surprised by how much it’ll cool down in the evenings and you’ll be glad you’ve got some warmth.

Oh, and don’t forget your binoculars. You might find something from a distance that no’one else has spotted yet!

Book Now at https://www.viator.com/en-GB/Rajasthan-attractions/Sariska-Tiger-Reserve/d4982-a27760?mcid=56757 to secure your spot. Once tickets are purchased, you’ll be emailed with any other information about this tour. Then it’ll be time to get excited!

Rajasthan celebrates many festivals throughout the year. They attract millions of tourists each year who travel specifically to experience the magic that the festivals provide. Rajasthan is full of culture, history and colour so it is no surprise that the festivals are too. The celebrations include traditional music, dances and appetizing feasts. It is full of brightness, laughter and fun. It is truly an incredible experience for all that attend! You will immerse in history and heritage and authentic Rajasthan culture. There’s one thing for sure, your trip will not be complete until you visit a festival in this beautiful state! Here is a list of the top three festivals in Rajasthan…

Rajasthan International Folk Festival, Jodhpur

Rajasthan International Folk Festival (also known as ”Jodhpur folk festival”) is an art and music festival celebrated annually in October. It’s a celebration of traditional Indian art and music. Hundreds of different musicians will travel here and take to the stage to perform. It welcomes any talent from across the state! The artists will also display their work all around the festival so people can admire their talent and purchase a piece if they want. This festival is a celebration and showcase of the incredible talent that Rajasthan has to offer. Whilst dancing the night away to traditional Indian music! We guarantee you’ll have fun at this festival and leave feeling content.

Pushkar Camel Fair

Pushkar Camel Fair is undoubtedly one of the most popular festivals in Rajasthan. Held in the tiny town of Pushkar it attracts an incredible three hundred thousand visitors each year. With locals and tourists joining together for a day of fun and entertainment. Originally, the festival was more business orientated and only made available to local camel traders.
